Rhythms of Grace

SO in my two month absence a lot has changed...

1. My coach resigned due to health issues. To make a long story short this has possibly been one of the biggest blessing that has happened to date, well maybe not, but my stress level has diminished and I absolutely adore my new coach. Toddy is his name. He is great fun and actually knows the game of basketball and watch out we have won 3 games with him!! All time record for the Centrals! That puts us at 5 wins for the season. Which you may be thinking Alisha that is pretty pathetic but let me tell you Tony [first coach] told me that we were a Grand Final team and made the finals last year. SO not the case with their previous 0-18 season. Basketball is fun again and I absolutely adore my teammates. We have had a few bonding sessions including a themed bbq party and night outs in town. I love them and our friendships are flourishing.

Some of the girls at a team bonding party. Our colors are red, white & blue reminds me of home! Thank you Salvos for an epic $10 outfit!!

2. My family came to visit! My Aunt, Erin & the girls came to Adelaide for a week. They no longer saw me as a drama queen after they saw/experienced my daily Adelaide living firsthand. They got here the week before my old coach resigned and saw my old host house so if they came it would be a completely different experience. I live in another suburb and don't have a coach who exaggerates truth. Looks like they have to come again!! It was refreshing to have family and my support system in place especially because they were here during such a pivotal week. I have to admit I almost flew home with them but I'm so glad I stuck it out! The blessings continue to pour out and there is nothing like some good refining!

No one wanted to be the male

3. I moved host homes!! I am SO much closer to practice and where I work! Actually saving money! Not to mention I am living with my best friend in Australia...Miss Charlotte. Honestly such a blessing and every night feels like a sleepover! It's like college all over again! The family is amazing and they are originally from England so they actually have English accents. It is lovely being around so many accents! California is going to be so boring when I come back home!

4. And the last thing I thought would ever happen did...an Aussie man got a hold of me. Daniel is his name and obviously he is the best!! He plays basketball for our Men's ABA team and is quite the baller himself. Although I am averaging more points:) Great guy who loves Jesus and his accent is more than an added bonus. Can't wait to bring him to SoCal. Did I mention he is 6'8 :)
